TNCC Instructor Course
The path to becoming an TNCC Instructor is complex. One class or online module does not provide enough time for learning, practicing, and teaching with the support of a monitor. The successful Instructor Potential will improve patient outcomes by teaching nurses to care for trauma patients using a systematic approach. The Instructor Course is one important step along the path that enables the development of effective TNCC Instructors. During the Instructor Course, Instructor Potentials will have multiple opportunities to practice teaching elements of the Provider Course. While it is expected that Instructor Potentials come prepared, it is NOT expected that Instructor Potential teach flawlessly.
Competency Validation/Pre-course Testing
Attendees with Instructor Potential status are required to revalidate their competency as Providers prior to the Instructor Course. This competency validation may be scheduled the same day as the Instructor Course OR up to 90 days before.
Preparation is strongly recommended to attain the required 90% written examination and skill station scores to be eligible to attend the Instructor Course.
